Meet Heidi, paramedical esthetician. This woman has the skin of a 20 year old, no joke, so make sure to listen to the advice she offers you!
How long have you been with Moxie Studio?
I’ve been with Moxie since July 2010, so almost five years, but have been in the business doing laser and sugar for 15 years.
What made you want to get into this field?
I’ve wanted to work with skin since I was a teen. I had quite the run in with acne, and have had almost a phobia to body hair for as long as I can remember. I enjoy helping and educating people to improve the health of their skin.
What is your secret for youthful skin?
Using 100 spf daily, tons of moisturizer, drinking more water than you want, a humidifier in the bedroom, sleeping on your back, Photofacials, Artefill, and botox every 4 months.
What’s your favorite service that Moxie offers?
Oooh, I can’t pick just one! I absolutely love doing laser hair removal, sugaring, and our Lamprobe (skin tag) treatments for minor skin irregularities.
What do you feel is the most unique thing about Moxie?
The personalized attention that comes from a small business, compared to a big chain. It’s also refreshing seeing what a large percentage of male clientele we have. We’re one of the few places that offers Brazilian hair removal for men.
Did you grow up in Denver?
No, but I feel like I did! I moved here in 1990 from Palo Alto, CA (near San Francisco) two weeks after I graduated from high school. I briefly worked in Chicago for 2 years, and Los Angeles for 8 monoths, but came back to Denver because I love it!!
What is the most satisfying part of your job?
Making people feel beautiful and more confident by the time they leave. Also, meeting and surpassing their expectations of what they thought was possible.
Who did the laser sessions on your skin?
I did, 14 years ago, and was fortunate enough to have such dark body hair, pale skin, and a huge passion for staying out of the sun.
