I’ve noticed that many people aren’t 100% sure what their skin type is, including myself. It can be confusing. That said, it’s important to know what your skin type is before visiting Moxie Studio. Why? Because, the more we know about your skin history, the more likely we’ll be able to offer you the best possible results. For instance, if you’re wanting a chemical peel, but your face is a little out of control this week, your skin care tech might suggest a different treatment for better results – I recently had this experience at Moxie a few weeks ago. My best advice? Be honest. If you’ve spent the entire winter in a tanning bed, tell us. If you like to pick at your pimples, no problem. I think we’ve all been guilty of that at some point.

There are many factors that may affect your skin type, including genetics, weather (sun, wind, cold), ingredients in skincare products, UV light from tanning beds and/or aging and hormonal changes. Here are a few tips to help you decide what your skin type is so you’ll be better prepared for your next visit.
